Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be played in casinos across the globe, or in your house on your computer, using a web account. The rules are very simple and involve the player attempting to get the greatest mixture of cards possible in order to acquire money. In this respect it is very similar as a normal game of poker, minus the interaction with other players. Of course, tactics employed during a real-life game of poker, like bluffing, will be irrelevant here.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (whether it is tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and presses the draw button. A hand of 5 cards will then be "handed out" on the screen.
The Electronic Poker machine also has hold buttons, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the bettor wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he would like to keep, they should press ‘deal’, at which point any new cards will be dealt if desired. The round is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payout schedule can vary from game to game, so that knowledgeable bettors are agile enough to choose the most profitable ones each and every time.
Once the first round has finished, the player can either choose to continue on in an attempt to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any money that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the gambler a chance to double their winnings, in which instance another hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards including wild cards and other differing characteristics to increase playability.
