Electronic Poker is a beloved game that usually will be gambled on in casinos throughout the world, or alternatively at your house on your personal computer, using an Internet account. The game of Electronic Poker starts when the gambler inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the machine and presses the deal button. A 5 card hand will be "handed out" on the screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and bettors should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can choose to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it is all or none.

After the gambler has chosen which cards he wishes to keep, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any fresh cards will be handed out if desired. The round is now finished, with the Video Poker machine analyzing the hand to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands printed on the payout schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands starts with jacks or better, moving on to 2 pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and finally royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful gamblers are able to pick the most profitable game each and every instance.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to maximize their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any money that they may have won. Additionally, a few versions of the game give the player an opportunity to double their wins, in which case another game is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some virtual decks having wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
