Electronic Poker is a beloved game that can be gambled on in casinos all over the globe, or alternatively at home on your computer, using a web connection. The regulations are very straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the highest mixture of cards achievable in order to win cash. In this respect it is very similar as a regular game of poker, minus the involvement with competing players. Of course, methods employed during a real-life game of poker, like tricking, will be useless in Video Poker.
The game of Video Poker starts when the player inserts credits (either tokens, credit slips or cash) into the video poker machine and pushes the deal button. A five card hand will then be electronically ‘distributed’ on the screen.
The Electronic Poker game also has hold buttons, and gamblers should now pick which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the player wishes to retain, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can choose to keep any amount of cards they wish, from all to none.
After the player has decided on which cards he would like to retain, they should press ‘draw’, which will mean that any fresh cards are needed they will be given out. The hand is now finished, with the Video Poker machine scanning the hand to see if it matches any of the winning hands shown on the payment schedule.
Normally, the minimum succeeding hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the award money growing for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, moving on to two pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, four of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the payment schedule can range from machine to machine, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to choose the most beneficial game every time.
Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to maximize their winnings, or they can press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any credits that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the bettor an opportunity to double their winnings, in which case a further hand is played. There are also differences among individual machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to increase playability.
