Electronic Poker is a popular game that is able to be gambled on in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, through a net account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player attempting to achieve the best combination of cards achievable in order to acquire money. In this respect it’s much the same as a classic game of poker, apart from the involvement with any other players. Of course, methods employed during a physical game of poker, such as bluffing, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Video Poker begins when the bettor puts credits (either tokens, credit slips or money) into the video poker machine and pushes the draw button. A hand of five cards will then be electronically ‘given out’ on the video screen.

The Electronic Poker machine also has buttons with ‘hold’ printed on them, and enthusiasts should now decide which cards to hold and which to discard. For the cards the player wishes to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons need to be pressed so that they light up. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they want, whether it is all or none.

After the bettor has selected which cards she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘draw’, at which point any new cards will be needed they will be handed out. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it is the same as any of the winning hands listed in the payment schedule.

Typically, the minimum winning hand on an Electronic Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money getting larger for each and every better hand. A list of common winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to 2 pairs, 3 of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It should be known that the pay out schedule can vary from machine to machine, so that discerning players are agile enough to choose the most money-making ones each and every time.

Once the first round has played out, the player can either decide to continue on in an attempt to increase their winnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to cash out any cash that they may have won. Additionally, some versions of the game give the player a chance to double their profits, in which case another round is played. There are also variations among specific machines, with some virtual decks including wild cards and other varying characteristics to enhance playability.
